Your First Visit

New Patient Forms

Office Orientation

We look forward to meeting you on your first orthodontic visit to our office. During this time, we will help you get acquainted with our office and learn about your orthodontic treatment. We understand that each patient’s orthodontic treatment is different, and we promise to give you the personal attention you deserve. Your first orthodontic visit will consist of an examination and discussion of potential treatment options. This important visit will address your orthodontic needs to determine if this is the proper time to begin treatment.

After we have evaluated your records, we conduct an orthodontic treatment consultation to explain all aspects of your treatment in detail. We will provide a complete clinical diagnosis regarding the nature of the problem, a written summary of the findings and a detailed plan that outlines your treatment, goals and estimated fees. We will also inform you about your Invisalign treatment options. We encourage questions from both the patient and the parent, and as such, we provide ample time to answer your questions. The initial orthodontic treatment consultation is complimentary and there is no obligation to begin treatment at this appointment. However, if treatment is necessary, you will have the option to get started right away.

Getting Started

Before braces are placed, patients must visit a dentist for an exam and have any necessary fillings. Patients should visit the dentist every 6 months for a thorough examination and cleaning. Before each orthodontic appointment, patients are encouraged to brush their teeth. Toothbrushes and toothpaste are provided in the office.

Convenient Appointments

Your appointments are scheduled to fit your busy lifestyle. Our staff makes every effort to accommodate each patient’s schedule. In order to help us continue to schedule efficiently, we alternate morning and afternoon appointments. A 24 hour notice is required to cancel an orthodontic appointment.

Treatment Time

Treatment may last from 18 to 30 months, though this will vary depending on your individual case. Appointments are typically scheduled from 8 to 10 weeks apart. Your cooperation in keeping scheduled orthodontic appointments, maintaining proper hygiene and taking care of your braces may allow you to finish your orthodontic treatment early.

We encourage patients to ask questions about their orthodontic treatment. At a patient’s first visit, a DN Orthodontics doctor will inform patients and/or parents about important treatment details. We always welcome parents to be present during each appointment.
